During the production and processing of stainless steel precision tubes and large-caliber thick-walled stainless steel precision tubes, various phenomena such as pitting and cracking are inevitable. These are product defects that many customers cannot tolerate during use. Improving product quality has always been an important public relations issue for stainless steel precision tube manufacturers. Below, we describe the reasons why these problems occur:

During the processing of stainless steel precision tubes, surface defects such as edge cracks, scabs, inclusions, and scarring may occur. These defects are generally caused by transverse cracks appearing under the outer arc skin of the ingot, fine impurities mixed in the crystallizer, failure to clean the surface of the stainless steel tube of oxide scale during finishing, and the edges of the ingot flipping towards the surface of the stainless steel precision tube during rolling. These defects not only reduce the surface quality of the stainless steel precision tube but also affect the improvement of product quality. Therefore, it is very important to prevent and promptly address surface defects in 304 stainless steel tubes.

-Surface defects such as pits, dents, and bubbles: The usual cause of these defects is the failure to thoroughly remove or discharge impurities, gases, or other substances on the surface or inside of the stainless steel precision tube during the production process.

-Cracks: Cracks are usually caused by excessive stress on the stainless steel precision tube during cold or hot processing, or by internal defects leading to fracture and cracking.

-Shape defects: The shape defects of stainless steel precision tubes are usually caused by improper control during rolling or drawing processes or by unreasonable process parameter settings.

-Dimensional deviation: Dimensional deviation is usually caused by improper process parameter settings for rolling or drawing or insufficient precision of processing equipment.

-Chemical composition unqualified: The chemical composition of stainless steel precision tubes is usually caused by poor quality of raw materials, and incorrect or inadequate process parameter control.

-Others: Other defects of stainless steel precision tubes include surface oxidation, hydrogen corrosion, etc.

To avoid these defects, the production process of stainless steel precision tubes requires precise and scientific process parameters and quality control measures, and strengthening material quality management and machinery equipment maintenance in the production process.
